Ivan Hernandez, the owner of ISH Design Services, was referred to me by a very reputable custom home builder, who I have know for over 30 years. Ivan is very easy to work with and has been very committed to my house project. My project is very expansive and involves every room in my house as well as multiple modifications to the existing foot print. Ivan is a good listener as well as being proactive in making design suggestions, whether it is the kitchen, bathroom or any other room in the house. In addition to his deep design experience, Ivan is very knowledgeable on structural and building code issues. My wife and I both have demanding jobs, so Ivan has been very flexible meeting after hours or on weekends ( both Saturdays and Sundays ). As is common with remolding projects, my wife and I were constantly making changes. Ivan was very helpful during that process and was always cooperative and understanding when ever changes needed to be made to the drawings. Once the project moved from " paper" to actual framing, Ivan wanted to make sure things were done correctly, so he frequently goes on site to speak directly with the framers. My wife and I have been very happy with Ivan. Ivan is a true professional and I would recommend his services for any size project.

Sabino was a delight to work with! He never nickels and dimes, is incredibly responsive, one of the more polite people I've ever met, and makes you feel valuable. With his help (unless previous architects we hired), we were finally able to receive approval from the historical commission for our renovation. He came in under budget and tried to return money he didn't feel he'd earned! This man is a gem you shouldn't pass up! His previous reference (a lawyer) couldn't stop praising him and asked why we hadn't hired him yet - we did soon after. We are still in touch with him and would hire him again in a heartbeat.

It was a pleasure working with Ivan. He patiently listens to you and creates great designs. He is open to suggestions as well. The best part is we never faced any zoning issue with his design. We recommend him.

Ivan is exactly the kind of professional every home owner wants (or should want) when they want to do a home improvement, renovation, or ground-up new construction project. I did a full new construction home build with him from 2015-2016. Ivan is incredibly attentive to detail, patient, and client-services oriented. He treats each decision and each phase of the project with care, thoughtfulness, and as if the house is his own. He is honest and he works with high integrity. I give him the highest possible ratings you can give a home design/building professional.

Ivan designed a 6,000 square foot custom house for us on a lake in the Walpole area. I met with several architects and frankly found them pretentious, not worth their value, and interested in their ideas--not mine. Ivan took over 20% into the project when our first architect didn't work out. Ivan is very different--helpful, responsive, and bringing ideas that fit MY plan. He is a gentleman, hard worker, and very good at what he does. He is also affordable. My only minor negative is the lack of CAD/CAM support; nevertheless, the old ways worked just fine and the result is all that matters--which is spectacular. I'm delighted to refer him!

Pros 1. Excellent client service - readily accessible. Even now - 5 years after he worked with us, we are able to ask him for input on some of his work. 2. Extremely trustworthy and reliable - this is critical for us. He's on OUR side. 3. Great ideas and high degree of flexibility. He was able to see spaces and options that we could not conceive of ourselves (and we feel we are quite design-savvy) 4. Very reasonably priced. We had approached companies and they had pricing based on the value of the potential project (and then tried to upsell designs in order to get to a desired compensation). I.S. Hernandez asked us what we wanted to do, and then designed several options - all based on time. 5. He comes with recommendations of contractors to work with. They are good, but you don't have to choose them. We chose someone different without any issues. Areas you will need to work on: There are a fantastic number of ideas and his creativity is superb. He will give the pros and cons and give a mild opinion. You will have to be decisive and go with what you like.
