About Us

Island Bamboo specializes in growing dozens of species of tropical-clumping bamboo. Located in central Tampa Bay, we feature lush, tranquil display gardens where retail and wholesale clients can view mature bamboo and other unusual plants in our full service nursery. Island Bamboo has over 20 years experience providing landscape consultation, design, installation and maintenance. Our creative team also designs, builds and installs custom bamboo fences and other bamboo products. In our shop, we feature a wide variety of island-inspired decor, pottery and gifts for the home and garden. We welcome guests to visit us at Island Bamboo to find inspiration in creating their own tropical landscapes.

Our backyard neighbor removed his tall hedge. We needed something for privacy and found Island Bamboo. The helped us find the perfect solution and when a minor planting issue arose the owner himself came out to fix the problem. Our initial visit was handled by the owner's son who was very helpful as my wife considered the options. Very please with the results and in fact will be adding in the near future. A very nice company to work with.

This company installed 2 beautiful bamboo gates on either side of my house. I have received many compliments on them. The owners and employees are very knowledgeable and professional. The work quality was excellent and done on time and at a very reasonable price point. I highly recommend them. You can visit their location and see where the bamboo grows and how they treat it. You can also wander around a garden with various bamboo and other plants growing. It's fun!

Oh my gosh!!!! The only thing we gate about Island Bamboo is that we didn't stop by years ago!!!! Maria and Keith were totally awesome!!! So friendly and very knowledgable!!!! We can't wait for our purchases to grow!!!! The bamboo "showroom" is just beautiful!!! Can't wait to go back!!!

I love this company. They do very good work. Reliable and knowledgeable about Bamboo. They installed my bamboo several years ago and I called them back after Hurricane Irma as my Bamboo took a beating. They untangled and cut them back a little and told me how to care for them so they will soon be as good as new.

What a fantastic group of people! Over the years we have purchased all of our bamboo from this group of knowledgeable, polite and HONEST hard working people. We just had our GIANT bamboo trimmed and it is now more beautiful in appearance and sound than before. Even our neighbors have come over to comment on the fantastic work. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ANY BAMBOO NEEDS. We are now contacting them to discuss landscaping, including building of decks etc and trim upkeep needs. They are fully service business for all landscaping needs.

Stopped in to get information on using bamboo for the backyard. I was shown different types to create the different sound barriers. When i returned to pick them up i was nicely greeted by 2 young ladies that did a great job in helping me select the bamboo that day. Will definitely be back to purchase more to finish the backyard.

Needed a replacement for an imperialis the roofers decapitated in my front yard. Called locally but nothing on hand. Island Bamboo had 1 left on hand. Paid over the phone and the roofing company picked it up and re-planted it and reimbursed me. It's all good.

We purchased a dozen bamboo for planting as a privacy fence. The owners/staff were very helpful, took time with us, and provided honest advice to help us choose the best plants. Their nursery/garden is great - and provides adult examples of the plants they sell. The quality is excellent, and the plants are looking great. If you need bamboo then I definitely suggest a visit..

Love the amazing varieties of bamboo for purchase and the fact that I can buy small ones and put into my sedan. They grow so fast, purchasing small isn't much of an issue. The people that work there are very friendly, helpful, and extremely well educated on the bamboo species. The will sell what fits exactly with your need.

I went to Island Bamboo because I was looking for a unique approach to my front garden area. Terry came to my home and listened to what I was looking for - color, butterfly and bee attracting plants, and lots of different types of plants. They came up with a plan for a good price and the work was done exactly when they said it would be. I am thrilled with the outcome and would certainly recommend this company to others. Thank you, Terry, for a lovely new garden.

Great place for advice and really high quality bamboo. Lots of great specimens and the selection is the best I have ever found. Staff is really helpful.
