About Us

Deborah Garth is an award-winning professional with a flair for remodeling spacious homes and private commercial space. Deborah is a full-service designer who has 29 years experience updating and upgrading the homes of corporate executives, business owners, lawyers, engineers and other professionals in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and Cornwall, England. She has also designed and refurbished office and retail outlets, including shopping mall stores, beauty salons, an advertising agency and exhibition stands. Her work has been featured on the DSTV Home Channel and SABC3 TV, Radio 702, in the Sunday Times, South African Garden and Home, Habitat Magazine, Home/Tuis and in other print and broadcast media throughout the country. She has won an award for design excellence at Decorex, the international luxury design show at which she has exhibited twice. Clients rave about Deborah's "unique flair and creativity", her "innovative, simple and refreshing style" and her "innate ability to mix colour and pattern". They also appreciate her project management skills and her insights on how to adapt to their space to meet their changing lifestyle and interests. and how to make sure their project proceeds on time and on budget. Deborah is active in and a former board member of the African Institute of Interior Design Professions, the nation's only trade association for the design industry. Deborah studied interior design and graduated with honors at the Boston House College School of Design in Johannesburg, after a triumphant career as a professional contemporary ballet dancer. She says that career, which enabled her to travel all over the world, taught her discipline, perseverance and other skills so vital to her success as an interior designer today.

I think because she listens to the brief from her clients and I have always loved the outcome. She is also reliable and sticks to her dead lines. When I decided to redesign the cottage I had purchased, I invited Deborah Garth to put forward ideas to transform a rather tired dwelling. I now have vibrant rooms with colour and texture, awash with light, simply furnished and extremely comfortable. Deborah's innate ability to mix colour and pattern, epitomises her experience in a challenging business. It has proved to me beyond doubt, that although one has ones own ideas, engaging a innovative professional, who is understanding and can interpret what you want, is the only way to be thoroughly satisfied with the end result. I would have no hesitation in recommending her Interior Design abilities.
