Joan was delightful to work with in furnishing our vacation home. Using her professional skills, she showed us how to create a retreat that we desired while keeping with the design of the house. Joan listened to our to our thoughts and ideas, developed a design plan, gave us a multitude of choices together with various samples to visualize how it would all work together. She took care of all the ordering, deliveries, and any issues that arose. Joan made the process of furnishing a multi-family vacation home in New Mexico while living in another state and not on site enjoyable and stress free. We would not have the beautiful retreat we now have without her and her creativity!

Joan at Creatrix helped us through a Condo remodel with great results. Considering how stressful a remodel can be in the best of times, imagine doing it remotely and during a Pandemic. Creatrix made the process run as if the World had never changed. Joan navigated us through the design process via video, photos and phone calls, while also arranging shipping and delivery of supplies and materials. Creatrix did a wonderful job in designing the renovations we planned: kitchen, 2 baths, flooring in 3 rooms, and tile baseboards throughout the house. Her advise took me outside my comfort zone but was spot-on in the results and I am so glad to have trusted her instincts. We now have the home we envisioned...well, almost; we still need to replace 3 doors and we will definitely engage her again in our decision-making process! We highly recommend Joan Duncan and Creatrix!

Joan was fantastic! Upon purchasing a beautiful old house I needed some help decorating it and making it mine. Joan worked with me closely and gave me just the help I needed. Nothing less, nothing more. I knew the style I wanted to decorate in and even some of the pieces I wanted but Joan helped with selection, placement, and even directed me to certain pieces of furniture when I was struggling to make up my mind. She also helped me with big decisions like selecting a new floor. Then there was the bathroom…I knew some of the things I wanted (spacious shower, plenty of storage, good light, etc.) but had no idea how to design a bathroom. I gave Joan carte blanche and she did a spectacular job. I am very happy. Joan was also a pleasure to work with. She was great with follow-up and even tolerated my peccadillos.

Joan did a great job helping me decorate a vacation home in Taos while I live on the East coast. We communicated by phone, text and email and without ever meeting in person, she decorated our master bedroom and living room in 2 months before our arrival.

I have turned to Joan for help on several occasions, the most recent and most major was a recent remodel of our kitchen. I have always found Joan to be an excellent listener and very mindful of what we like and how we live as well as the budget we have in mind, which she then takes into account in her design suggestions. She is prompt and responsive and creative, making suggestions and solving problems that I'd not thought of yet. She is also full of great ideas for resources in the area and has always been willing to help vet contractors and other providers.

I highly recommend Joan Duncan. I have had the pleasure of working with this talented designer off and on for the past 10 years. She has done an amazing job transforming our home room by room into a warm inviting space with a WOW factor of 10/10. With this recent request, I didn't have the time or confidence to change our small bathroom into a functional work of art. I only knew I wanted something unique and different. Joan exceeded my expectations at every turn. She has a talent for design and comprehensive knowledge of textiles and colors. She provided pictures, prices and made every step transparent.
