Caroline Design

My husband and I are in the midst of doing an addition/update of our 1950s house. After having our plan re-drawn multiple times by our architect, we decided we needed more help with our layout. We hired Caroline and she was fantastic. We have an existing living room that none of us could figure out how to use and she recommended we split the space into a new foyer and an office. We had been prepared to give up on having a new foyer in our original plan, but Caroline made sure that didn't happen (thank you)! She also helped us with the layout of our new kitchen, great room, and master bedroom/bathroom. She really helped us figure out how to best utilize the space we will have and we are so happy with it! She really listened to what we wanted and we felt totally comfortable telling her what we liked and disliked. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for design help!

First things first: my husband and I had no idea what we were doing when we set off on a renovation, and as a result, had a really rough journey to the finish line (think: contractor horror story, initial layout that probably didn't make sense, general five alarm anxiety). Luckily, we got Caroline involved--initially to help me make some decisions on materials, but THANK GOODNESS she was able to steer us in other good directions, including changing up our layout a bit to effectively make the best use of the space in our home/kitchen. To be honest, we were probably nightmare clients (I was only comfortable with WHITE everywhere, our first contractor was ultra difficult, my husband and I didn't agree on plenty) but Caroline stuck it out with us, from getting another contractor in place to finish the job when it became necessary to helping us find the right specialists for some of the weird hiccups (e.g. uneven floors) of our 1910 home. She's patient, cool-headed and solution-oriented in addition to having a wonderful aesthetic. AND we have a kitchen, mudroom and bathroom we're so happy with. In the future (when we're recovered from this round of craziness), I know to start with a great designer like Caroline before we do anything else. Highly recommend!

We hired Caroline to help us bring character to our new build. Specially she worked in our family room. It turned out incredible, and we could not be happier. We get so many compliments!!! Caroline was willing and able to work within our budget, and still produce and amazing room. She took care of all buying of furniture and construction through an amazing contractor. I would highly recommend Caroline for anyone looking to redo their house, we can’t wait to have her back!!

The knowledge and attention to detail Caroline put forth to see the project through its entirety was such a saving grace. Her style and creativity assisted tremendously in the process. It is evident that she is passionate about each and every project. She challenged us to think outside the box, and the end result that was not only stunning, but exceeded all expectations!

I was given a couple pieces of furniture and needed to rearrange my main living space to fit these pieces. I was pulling my hair out trying to make it work. I called Caroline and she offered to do a FaceTime consultation to help me. Through FaceTime she could see my room and told me where to place things. I was so amazed at the difference it made! The room has never felt so welcoming and put-together. Even my 10 year son was amazed when he came home from school, now that’s saying something! He just kept saying “wow mom, I can’t believe how good it feels so good in here!” . I’m so happy to have called her, she sure knows how to not just make it work but make it home! Thank you Caroline, I will be using your services again!

I have worked with Caroline on a number of her projects over the last year. She is a joy to collaborate with. She obviously loves what she does and exudes enthusiasm for her jobs. She has been a designer for 7 years now and is a fresh new face in the Buffalo area. She has the educational background to support her skills and is a member of ASID. I have recommended her several times to my clients and friends.

I struggle to write a concise review of Caroline Design. I could go on for pages and pages! Caroline from Caroline Design is EXCELLENT, simply said. She is professional, respectful, not pushy, and her work is awesome. We had just moved into a patio home and neither my husband or I have a sense of decorating. During our first visit, she nicely stated “ This is your home, and you can do anything you wish. Designed, choose tile, carpenters and followed through on a daily basis, so that it would be what we agreed on. It truly is the focal point of our home, exactly what we wanted! It is gorgeous in our eyes. Perfect! Caroline also made many suggestions for the rest of the home, including paint colors, lights fixtures , furniture (to compliment what we already had) and draperies. Although I used most of her specific ideas, I did go a bit “rogue” on her and added my own choices. She just laughed and worked around them. Truthfully, just trust her recommendations. I wish I would have stayed the course with her choices. 3. Caroline came in and finished the project of turning this patio house into our home and we love it! She is extremely professional, respectful of the budget and our time, honest and fun to work with. I’m a bit sad that our decorating is just about finished and I would be glad to speak with anyone interested in her services. Caroline is a very talented young lady!

We couldn't be more pleased with the work Caroline has done for us and would highly recommend her for any and all interior design projects. We hired her for the interior design of our family room, eat-in kitchen, formal dining and living room, foyer, morning room and our second sons's nursery. Caroline had such unique design concepts to suit our tastes and truly made our newly bought home into something that reflected our style and personality that made it "our home". The work including repainting of the entire 1st floor rooms, floor to ceiling stone fireplace around existing fireplace, new stone backsplash in kitchen, replacement of most major chandeliers and light fixtures and new furniture for the majority of these rooms. She even had us meet with an artist to commission a large 4'x6' painting that hangs in our family room that is such an amazing focal point. All of the companies Caroline used including the painters, masons, electricians and furniture storage company were extremely professional and produced high quality work. We really enjoyed the design process and fully intend on hiring Caroline in the future for other areas in the house.

I hired Caroline because she offered a groupon! I wasn't exactly sure how she was going to help with my project (total remodel) but I wasn't exactly sure how. She took my architect's house design, and changed it to make it everything I wanted and more! She's been with me every step of the way helping me pick out furniture, kitchen cabinets, color themes, accessories, and so much more! She has transformed my house from a small ordinary ranch to a two story castle!

My consultation with Caroline Design was excellent. Fresh ideas for color, style and size of new front door and overall curb appeal of house were presented. Caroline was knowledgeable, creative and enthusiastic. Overall, I was very pleased with all suggestions. We also discussed ideas for preparation and staging of my home for sale. Again, her suggestions were practical and reflected her overall knowledge of the current real estate buyers market. I will contact Caroline for help with staging my home when it is ready to be put on the market.

I was very pleased and excited to begin my project with Caroline Design. Caroline set me totally at ease as she created the design to fit my life style. She took my bathroom and powder room from The nineteen twenties to 2015. Throughout the project Caroline had my needs and my personality in mind constantly. As the job progressed I could see my characteristics put into solid form in my rooms. When I thought the job was perfect and I was totally satisfied she surprised me with even more creative placement of materials to totally enhance the completed project in a way that I Could never have conceived. The joy and the creativity that she brought to my project only enhanced my appreciation for her talents and for the final product.

Carolyn was a pleasure to work with - we loved her ideas, she was very professional and well organized. She really listened to what we wanted and added her own personal touches, which enhanced the project. I liked her Power Point presentations, which showed us multiple choices and provided different prices ranges. Many times I changed my mind on things and she was she was very accommodating. I appreciate that she was flexible for our meetings and always on time. She stayed on top of researching items, brought fabric swatches to our house many times, and was prompt in ordering and delivering products. I really liked that everything was delivered right to our doorstep! The hardest part of my job was deciding what to choose. We initially hired Carolyn designs to decorate our new bedroom and bathroom addition, but we added things to many rooms - new light fixtures to the Kitchen and hallways, curtains in the kitchen and new cushions and pillows for our Family Room love seat. In the new Bedroom and Bath, we added a large rug, new lamps, curtains and all new bedding accessories. Everything looks wonderful and I like the way she pulled color schemes together through out the house.
