We hired Chris Bailow in the winter of 2015 to draw plans for a 1st floor renovation of our cape style home. Chis returned with several designs, one, which required the moving of exterior walls, and the other that reworked the existing space that we had. Due to cost considerations, we choose the design that reworked the current space. The next step had Chris bringing us 3 builders to meet with and interview. We hired one of these and the project began in July. Chris transformed what was a charming cape with small rooms into a beautiful new space that includes an open floor plan and allows for better flow, better entertaining for a crowd or for a small group. The project consisted of gutting the first floor, removing inside walls, moving and redoing a first floor bathroom, a complete new kitchen, installing new larger windows, reworking the innards of an exterior room that was formerly hidden to include an A frame ceiling, love seat, bookshelves and bar that is a highly visible and utilized part of the main living space and exceptional in detail. Lastly the house surrounds a structural beam that is both functional and architecturally stunning, encased in pillars and archways that runs the length of our home. In addition to drawing the larger space, Chris drew the design and spec of all of our cabinetry and millwork throughout the house. Chris was excellent to work with, partnering with us to solve design issues and create a beautiful home that maintains the charm of an older home while blending an updated, crisp and functional new design. Chris was always available, had excellent advice and used his talent and skill set to create a really beautiful new home for us. We highly recommend Bailow Architects!

We met with Chris to discuss our kitchen/family room remodel. He worked with us to come up with a final design. We very happy with the remodel and would definitely use Chris again for our future plans.

Chris is a pleasure to work with and is very patient with all our questions. We threw some wrinkles into the plans and he just adapted and helped us along the way. Working with Bailow Architects was nothing but a pleasure from our first interaction.
