Bryan Birmingham Inc. did a major reconstruction of my 1892 Victorian house in the Noe Valley area of San Francisco. The work was extensive and involved the removal of the roof and second floor supports and a complete reconstruction that raised the overall ceiling level on the third floor.
In addition to all of the major construction and reconstruction, Bryan installed all of the decorative work on the outside of the house, which is quite elaborate and encompassed features such as circular windows, sunburst designs, decorated brackets of two types and raised panel trim with applied decorations. The pictures speak for themselves.
I could not recommend Bryan more highly both for the skill of the construction work as well his patience in working with me. It's been a pleasure and I'm looking forward toward living in my new space soon.

I recommend Bryan Birmingham very highly for any home remodeling job. He was the contractor for our kitchen remodel in 2006. The remodel included moving the kitchen from one part of the house to another and removing load-bearing walls. It was a complicated design. The kitchen has held up well over the years. Bryan is client-centered and works hard to do the best job possible. He is thorough, conscientious, , honest, personable and a good problem-solver.

My partner and I hired Bryan for a complete renovation of our 110 year old house in San Francisco. Bryan was a pleasure to work with, and we're thrilled with the results. We were initially impressed with how detailed he was in his bid, indicating that he truly understood what we were trying to accomplish, and clearly identifying the detailed scope of work and materials. We ended up adding significant upgrades and new scope to our project. So while we went beyond the initial budget and estimated timeframe, it was only because of changes we chose to make. We held frequent meetings where we reviewed progress and discussed options as new ideas arose. Bryan was great at providing detailed change orders for the expanded scope with new estimates for completion time. We always knew where we were with respect to time and budget.
The quality of the work has been very high, from Bryan's team as well as the sub-contractors. There was never a time when work stalled or slowed down. Bryan is focused on making sure we're pleased with the results, down to the smallest details. In the few cases where issues arose, Bryan fixed them without hesitation. Most of the finish work was performed by or closely supervised by Bryan, and his attention to detail really shows. The sub-contractors have also been a pleasure to work with and have delivered very high quality work. They clearly have a great relationship with Bryan, and were well coordinated to work around each other.
All in all, we've been very pleased with Bryan and his team, and would definitely hire him again.

Since 1994 Bryan and I have worked together on residential remodeling, addition and new construction projects in San Francisco. Throughout the bidding and construction processes Bryan offers insights into value engineering, and into refining details. While some contractors can only reliably install new finishes, Bryan's expertise allows him to repair existing finishes and blend new materials with existing. He is equally at home with major construction like concrete and steel, as he is with fine tuning interior carpentry.

I worked with B. Birmingham Inc. on a remodel of a community building. He was extremely experienced in the construction field and handled the committee negotiations with knowledge and professionalism. The project was completed on time and on budget. It was a very successful project overall.

We hired Bryan Birmingham as the general contractor to enlarge a room and build a deck out over an existing rooftop on the 3rd floor of our house. Bryan's estimate for the job was reasonable and he was helpful with suggestions when we ran into the inevitable unexpected issues during construction (dry rot, uneven settling of the house, etc.). The work was completed in a professional manner and we are very much enjoying our new space.

The project was a complete remodel of an existing Victorian residence. Total cost was in excess of $1 million (although the contractor did not receive all of that, since owner paid for some appliances and fixtures separately) Work was continuous from the first day. Any delays were result of owner actions, changes, etc. Contractor was very helpful with information and suggestions. Work crew was hard-working and professional. At project completion, conractor continued to provide "customer support" by fixing small problems and making suggestions. Unfortunately owner did not photograph the project, but owner completely satisfied with the end product.
