Wine Cellar, Regents Park
A new wine cellar recently created underneath the rear terrace of a Grade II* listed house, together with a hand-crafted cedar shed in its garden, following permission obtained from the freeholder The Crown Estate. In the cellar a full height and full width mirror on the far end wall creates the illusion of double the actual storage capacity of 900 bottles; the reclaimed York paving stones are combined with crisp white painted customised wine racks and a limed birch-faced plywood ceiling. The red cedar shed serves as both a tool and bicycle store and its trellis provides a discrete screen to the new recycling bin area as well as an access route up to the raised street level at the rear of the property.
