Twins Nursery
Located directly above the master bedroom, and accessed by a short staircase, this nursery was converted from attic space. The newborns can enjoy nature’s treasures in the many colorful insects and animals incorporated into the murals, light fixtures and cabinet hardware. Planned as a future playroom when the babies are older and sleeping in their own rooms, this is a room designed to inspire, to teach, and to create special memories for two lucky babies.
Lacking actual windows in this converted attic space, a faux window was created by adding a back lit, stained glass scene over a built-in daybed where a tired parent can rest. Easy access to the adjacent nursery helps ensure late-night feedings are less arduous. This bedroom and the adjoining nursery were awarded first place for “one compelling space” in the 2003 Texas ASID Design Ovation awards.
