Stair update

While the basic elements of the original stairs remain the same the addition of a window and built-in bookcase as well as a new paint job give these stairs a nice makeover.

    The floor in the foreground of this image is oak, the floor in the kitchen (through the opening) is wide plank pine.

I would so very much love to do a bookshelf like this at the bottom of the stairs, AND this interesting bottom step that turns the staircase 90 degrees
