Sophisticated Master Bedroom
There are several different places in the bedroom where we used faux finishes. The walls are painted with tone-on-tone stripes and the firplace has been glazed, to give it depth and a patina. The large hollow doors that open to the closets were taking too much attention just because of their plainness! Since this house is in an area of classic homes with a great deal of architectural detail, I wanted to make the doors more important, yet quieter. I had the painter do faux panels on them. He did such a good job that guests who come into the room don't believe they are fake. They have to go up and touch them to be sure!
