Slate dining table

Dining table This was a great commission to work on. The home had been designed and built by the clients. My job was to make a dining table with influences of the surrounding area. The key points were to use stainless steel and slate. stainless steel was a feature on the interior doors. I used it in the same method on the top. I put two tramlines down the length stopping at the traditional bread board ends. The idea was to reflect light as a striking feature and also to suggest an area for condiments when eating. The stainless steel was also used on the slab legs, this was to tie all aspects of the table together and to create a capping around the slate veneer. The purpose of the slate was to help the table blend into its surroundings as it had been a key feature on the house build.
