Reservoir Garden
This large for London family garden backs onto a reservoir and had several mature trees. We worked closely with the client to retain and enhance the special feeling the garden had with an informal design that linked the house to the cob house and play area with a serpentine path. We lifted the crowns of some of the trees to create more light and added an understory of woodland planting, while a perennial wildflower meadow picks up the natural backdrop of the reservoir bank beyond the garden. A circular deck makes the most of the afternoon sun, and the large lawn is retained for family games. A reclaimed yorkstone patio near the house is used for dining out and we added pleached trees for more privacy and a gently bubbling water feature
