Although I tend to favor black and white landscape photography, the breathtaking magenta of these lavender fields just screamed for a color photograph. I love how the leading lines, created by the rows of flowers, contribute to the composition. For me, the image didn't really come alive until late in the afternoon when there was finally a break in the cloud cover, allowing a few rays of light in the distance to draw your eyes towards infinity.
