Self-built from the ground up, this Berkshire property is owned by an architect with a passion for high-quality design and functionality. A covered outdoor seating area was the focus for this install. This is because the homeowners were aware that they would require screens for insect protection and to shield them from wind and rain.
Automation was important to this homeowner. The property has a modern design, an automated solution was required to counter the insect ingress that can come from nearby bodies of water. Having heard about Phantom Screen’s world-famous Power Screens, they didn’t hesitate to get in touch during the design phase.
Over an initial phone consultation, our specialists listened carefully to our customers’ requirements and reviewed the plans and drawings. Our team visited the property during its build phase and provided their expert advice to find a solution that would meet the customers’ needs. Having the accurate measurements, we got to work tailor making and handcrafting the screens in our factory.
Four Power Screens were installed to the brick columns around the outdoor living space. This created a highly attractive, flexible living space with the ability to switch from intimate indoor hideaway to sun-soaked outdoor area at the touch of a button.
Each Power Screen was made to measure at 2300mm wide x 2600mm high, painted in RAL 7016 satin. The chosen fabric for the screens was 20:20 black mesh – perfect for insect protection and ventilation with an unspoilt view of the magnificent garden.
Additional benefits of the automated Power Screens include keeping the area well ventilated, protection from harsh solar glare, plus a little extra privacy.
The customer was thrilled to see their vision finally come together in their stunning new Windsor home. They now enjoy sitting outside with total protection from waterborne bugs flying in from the River Thames and nearby reservoirs.
