As part of a Project that Includes 2 other bathroom remodels,( more pics to come) this bath was completed 1st. The exisitng walls were covered with wall paper, removing wall paper and skim coating the walls was not feasible. The solution was to install the beadbaord panels 1st, then apply 1/4" drywall above, to the ceiling, tghe celing was re- sheetrocked as well. In this case the bead baord panel and drywall thickness matched up , with the chair rail molding covering that joint. After over 50 yrs of paint. wall paper, nail pops etc, it was really much easier to get a beautiful final product by applying new drywall, taping and spackling. Crown Molding was added to enhance the overall classic architectural aesthetic.
