Molteni & C Gio Ponti D.655.1 Sideboard
The Molteni & C D.655.1 chest of drawers is part of Italian furniture brand Molteni & C's Gio Ponti Collection, an exciting project to re-issue furniture created by Giovanni Ponti, the great Twentieth century architect and designer.
Gio Ponti designed several versions of the D.655 chest of drawers between 1952 and 1955 for various customers including Singer & Sons. This stylish chest stands out for its hand painted white drawers fronts, with applied handles in different woods; elm, Italian walnut, mahogany and rosewood. The main structure is in elmwood and it rests on satin brass feet.
Available in two sizes, the D.655.1 which has eight drawers and the smaller D.655.2 which has three drawers.
Every piece in the Gio Ponti collection complies with the design and materials in the original Gio Ponti documents and each piece in the collection carries a serial number and a screen-printed signature of the famous architect as a guarantee of its origin and authenticity.
