Mao & Piu
Mao & Piu are imaginary creatures, who seek calm and peaceful life. They are invisible objects, but once we recognise them, become visible subjects. During the day, this non-animated character stands as a modern sculpture absorbing sunlight. At night, when the light is on, it reveals its delicate surface, gleaming like a moon. The lighting shade is made of mulberry paper with home-made natural flour glue, rediscovering papier-mache and traditional Korean Hanji-craft methods.
