Refacing the original brick fireplace. The white-painted brick was usually covered in soot and difficult to keep clean ( due to shallow box). By refacing in tile with a dark grout, it wipes clean and compliments the 1928 architecture. These tiles were the same as used in kitchen backsplash. The mantle, originally painted white, is now blue with a black glaze, that compliments the room.
