Fernmist - A Mountain Retreat
For the stone fireplace at the far end of the bedroom, instead of having three sides (the back and both the right and left sides) built on the exterior of the home, the designers pulled the structure into the room. The stone-clad right and left sides now create niches in the room, like the one shown here. The niche has room for the table that holds the antique family bible in a glass archival box.
