Customised media display unit in Cobham, Surrey
This stunning modern customised fitted media display unit was designed and built for our client’s home in Cobham, Surrey. Our client runs an independent art gallery, and she wanted this wall-to-wall media cabinet to be created with sections to display her collection of original artworks, prints and ceramics.
A TV unit with tailored display sections
The layout of the unit was designed around the TV screen and soundbar. Each display section was made to measure to house separate items in our client’s exquisite art collection. Using hand drawn sketches and detailed CAD visuals we developed a series of different ideas for the composition of the unit, before the final design was agreed upon. Designed to blend with the interior décor
The built-in multimedia unit has been designed to blend with the interior décor. It has a distinctive two-tone look. The woodgrain finish is Anthracite Mountain Larch from the Egger range, which was selected to match the living room’s new wooden floor. This has a warm, dark grey tone with a characterful texture. The rest of the unit has been spray painted in Farrow and Ball Stony Ground. This is the same colour as the living room walls and makes the unit appear as a seamless part of the room rather than a separate item of furniture.
Integrated LED lighting
LED lighting was integrated throughout the unit to highlight the art collection and add atmosphere especially in the evenings. You can find out more about Acorn lighting designs here.
