This scenic sound-front lot provided an opportunity to create a second home to be used by a busy family from the Chicago area. Vacationers to the Outer Banks for many years, they appreciated the vernacular of the old style Nags Head homes but wanted to incorporate more sophisticated finishes. Nestled in the marsh, this home features a green metal roof and natural blue label cedar shingles with alabaster painted trim fitting the natural setting. Exposed rafter tails at the porch and oiled hardwood decks create a timeless beach feel.
