Courtyard Garden
A flagstone path moves through a planting of Armeria maritima Sea Thrift that replaces a lawn. This area has at times full sun and full shade. The Armeria will look much like grass but blooms pink pom pom flowers that creates a meadow look in spring. On the street side is a small berm border of bold purple, red and blue plants along with silver for a pop. The homeowner was especially drawn to sages so many are in the plant list. Throughout the space is Lantana, Penstemons, Salvia greggii, Salvia Leucantha 'Santa Barbara', Salvia clevlandii, Salvia guaranitica, Festuca glauca, Phormium 'Jester', Achillea 'Paprika', Brunfelsia, Coprosma 'Marble Queen', Carpenteria californica, Stachys byzantina, Artemesia 'Powis Castle', Geranium 'Johnson's Blue', and Red Carpet Rose. Additionally, the homeowner had a collection of Irises that need to be divided and were spread throughout the front border planting.
