Berg Design Architects : overboard residence

overboard residence now before The Overboard residence renovation was completed over a one year period as a collaborative effort between family and friends. The close proximity of the building to the water over eighty years resulted in deteriorated plumbing, electrical, and minor structural concerns. The building plan was also a source of frustration for the owners. Bergdesign’s proposal included gutting the building and reorganizing the first floor plan to better suit the owner’s style of living. The terrace side of the house was completely reconsidered with cues referencing historic waterside Bermuda buildings to create a second front door enterance to the house for visitors arriving by boat. The interior architecture included new millwork and trim in every room of the house.
