This handsome and very formal Americana entry- a given for the project- was configured into a more family friendly space by the use of materials, art and an informal mix of styles. The grand massing of the space is quieted by a travertine stone pad for wet shoes, a Miro print that greets visitors from high up on the dry-brush walls, a custom mirror and table that promotes convenient entries and exits, and a pair of bi-fold glass doors that close off the kitchen when appropriate.
