Ambient Lighting
Ambient lighting usually requires a medium intensity light which is 150 to 450 lux at the surface where the light lands. The goal of ambient lighting is to provide a basic medium level light for function and movement. A layer of ambient light is typically used to provide general lighting on horizontal surfaces. Adding accent and task lighting layers will provide the visual interest and dramatic elements to complement your designs.
