Regarding music: music is fine at gatherings or dinner parties, but please remember that it should be in the background! There is nothing worse than having to constantly raise your voice to talk over too-loud music, IMO.....it drives me batty. We even have acquaintances who will keep turning the music up, up, up when a favorite song comes on, then sometimes ask all guests to be silent because it is a very moving song that they just love!!! I think this is completely nuts, no?

How about updating—entertaining with Covid? I’m struggling with how and what to serve.

Well the candle is fine but at one Christmas party the edges of my shawl hit the candle while I was washing my hands. I was able to put it out without damaging the bathroom and I did report myself. The shawl was a goner though.
