See the latest colourful baths and basins, innovative shower features and more launched at the KBIS trade show in the US
Many people replace their taps and fixtures during a kitchen or bathroom redesign. But while the basic function tends to stay the same – managing the flow of water – innovations in style, colour and technology abound in the latest kitchen and bathroom products debuting now and in the coming months.
Many eye-catching updates made a splash at the recent 2024 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas. Here, we highlight 10 trends seen in products introduced at the show.

Victoria + Albert partnered with Food & Wine magazine to create three new colourful palettes – divided into courses – for the Cravings collection. The colours are inspired by culinary ingredients such as dark chocolate, Burgundy wine and lemon. Shown here is Course I. It includes the colours Rose, Saffron Yellow and Olive Gray.
2. Health and wellness
By far the most talked-about trend in the kitchen and bathroom world is a tripling down on health and wellness. Anything to nourish, rejuvenate and calm the body is getting full attention.
Few things drew more oohs and aahs at the show than Kohler’s new Anthem shower system. It allows users to create a shower with up to 12 water output points plus steam, controlling everything from a single digital interface. A setup might include multiple body sprays, shower heads and handheld sprays, as well as a steam function, for the ultimate spa-like shower experience. More features, such as lighting control and sound capabilities, will be added this year.
Purified water played an important role at this year’s show. Delta announced the Clarifi shower head filter, which reduces water impurities such as chlorine and sediment, which may cause dry skin and hair. The filter arm attaches to existing supply lines and shower heads.

Reverse osmosis was also a topic of conversation at the show. Delta announced its Clarifi tankless reverse osmosis system, which filters drinking water to remove more than 90 contaminants, including lead, microplastics, chemicals, PFAS, pharmaceuticals, nitrates and heavy metals. There’s also a feature that adds minerals that some homeowners prefer for taste and feel, such as magnesium and calcium.
3. Beauty
Of a piece with health and wellness is a trend towards beauty features and products. Exemplifying this is Kohler’s new SpaViva hand shower, which includes two spray types, as well as attachments that magnetically dock to the shower head and rotate at three speeds. A face brush attachment features small, densely packed silicone bristles to deep-clean pores.
A body brush, meanwhile, has large silicone bristles; a body massager, shown here, features five massage points, and a body scrub attachment exfoliates skin. SpaViva won gold in the Wellness Trailblazer category at the Best of KBIS 2024 awards.

5. Matt black
On the heels of industrial style’s popularity is matt black. Many manufacturers in recent years have been making this finish a regular part of their new collections, and the trend doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
Brizo announced it’s planning to launch a new matt black finish expansion to its Kintsu bath collection of taps, shower fixtures and accessories.

6. Details, details, details
Sometimes, it’s the little things that make an item special. A look at products launched at KBIS 2024 reveals designers were obsessed with the small details. It was almost impossible to walk 10 feet at the show without hearing words such as chamfered, channelled, knurled, fluted, faceted, etched and hammered.
Kallista launched its new One PE Guerin collection, which features hand-hammered details on the handles. The tap shown here is in unlacquered brass and polished nickel.

8. Workstation sink innovations
Workstation sinks exploded in popularity a few years ago, and manufacturers continue to iterate on new design details and features. Moen’s new Luxe Chef workstation system, shown here, features accessories for cutting, drying, draining and storing.
Moen’s SoundShield technology on its 16-gauge stainless steel reduces vibration and noise from running water and clanging dishes. Angled ledges are easier to wipe clean. A sloping basin efficiently drains water, while a rack insert keeps the bottom level. Another cool feature sits under the sink. (See next photo.)

9. Vintage looks
Sometimes looking forwards requires looking back. Several brands announced new styles with decidedly vintage looks. Perrin & Rowe’s new Southbank collection of kitchen taps draws on the midcentury architecture of London’s South Bank neighbourhood. The taps have curves and contours that echo midcentury furniture as well.

Moen’s new Smyth line takes inspiration from architectural details found in the 1925 Cleveland Public Library building to combine contemporary and vintage styles. Fluting on the turned handle recalls furniture knobs, and the rounded-square spout evokes Shaker design elements.

Kast, which Kohler acquired in 2023, showcased its colourful new Wave collection of concrete basins. The collection features three undulating models in various colours. Shown here is the Prim model in Sandcastle.
