Probably don't have enough room to have separate panels above the nightstands and the bed, but it's an idea, made in mid-century style, of course.

Mirrors do give the initial impression of windows all around, so they do provide illusions of space as would hopefully ours behind the bed.

I would like the closet wall that faces the bedroom to be framed mirror akin to this to add illusion of width, less or no wood panels, though they are pretty.
Standing mirror has some mid-century trim.
