Architecture that can speak volumes about the style and function of not only your home, but about yourself as well.

Love the loft, high windows, wide open space. The warmth that the wood walls and window frames adds is what really makes me love this space. Plus, I'm always a fan of lofts.

Gorgeous glass entry. Would have to make sure there is a prior entrance for safety and privacy's sake. Slate wall is spot on.

Q

Stone wall as entrance is stunning, sets the tone for this home. The numbers are just so chicly modern. Gimme!!

Q

Could see this in a basement for sure. Love the long hallway, recessed lighting is really spot on. Not a fan of the subject of the picture, but a nice Warhol or Lichtenstein blown up to that size would make a huge statement.

Totes diggin' the doors. Not quite accordion, but me gusta.

Open sliding door, nice landscaping. Only problem - bugs?

Q

I'll take one of these rooms with a side of Cherner dining furniture, please.

Q

Absolutely love the windows here. May look a bit awkward from the inside though?

Q

Reminds me of the [actual] home used in Twilight: New Moon. Lovely outdoor space.

Q

Absolutely LOVE this backyard. The levels and use of materials really pulls the look together.

OMG!!!!!

Q

Delish exterior design.

Fireplace is WICKED. Love the TV off to the side, backed in walnut instead of orangey cherry-type wood. TV would be mounted on a recessed pull out swivel mount that can be flush against the wall when not in use. Cream furnishings and silver/heather grey/charcoal accessories and drapes instead of pumpkin color scheme (ick!). Maybe a splash of retro green or yellow/goldenrod to sunny it up during warm months and burgundy in winter months. I absolutely LOVE this space for a 1/2 basement living room (gotta keep the windows)!!!

One of my all time favorite bedrooms on Houzz.

Q

Again, one of my all time favorite bedrooms on Houzz. Kudos to architecture on this one and maximizing the view. Would be stunning to have a view of downtown Vancouver in one side with the Pacific and mountains in the other. Best of both worlds.

Windows and door look like one! Genius. A more traditional design, but sometimes that is what you're dealt and have to own it and make it yours. I would bring in as much MCM influence as I could to this space.

Q

Photo

Like the far left window frame, seen it before and love it.

Was digging this when I first discovered Houzz, but not quite sure about it anymore. Keeping it just in case I change my mind again.

Q

Photo

Stunning. And 20x over my budget.

Q

Photo

Too sparse for my taste. Plus, I like to mix vintage/retro pieces with totally modern ones. This is just ALL minimalist modern and a bit chilly.

Q

Photo

Really digging the windows in this kitchen.

Q

Photo

Like the brick and hardwood floors. If I had no choice but to go with an existing downtown loft or something, I would want it to match this.

Q

Photo

Favorite again. The windows and levels in this living room are SOOOOOO right.

Q

Liking the grand scale of this space, but too uninviting? What about echoing?

Q

Photo

Mix of materials is delicious.

Q

Don't care for the color of wood, but I really like the architecture of ceiling and walls in this kitchen. Would have to position so that afternoon sun wouldn't turn this kitchen into a sauna.

How wicked is the window-to-skylight feature?!

How can I have a collection of modern ideabooks without including the Hoke house?! Epitome of perfection.

Q

Hoke house. Gorgeous architecture and attention to detail. Definitely a personal favorite.

Install a central vacuum system with sweep inlets. No more repeated times bending over and trying to sweep the last bit into a dustpan. Your sweeping and vacuuming will go so much faster.
