My greatest difficulty with my kitchen design is what to do with the hood vent. Something like this with a chimney hood flanked by cabinets to the side always looked kind of weird to me but somehow looks ok here.

I've thought about having vertically stacked tiles like this backsplash as a repeating motif for various areas of the house, mimicking the stacked bricks on the outside front planters and chimney.

This house incorporates all the architectural ideas I had in my head over the years (especially the exterior screening and cladding) and someone built it before me. Won't be this house I'm living in now but maybe it gives you an idea of where my head is.

Like this color scheme. The grey countertop is nice. Like the color of the walnut. Like the look of a thin 1cm countertop.
