Often where wood trim comes in contact with moisture we use a wood alternative, like royal wood - when painted it blends in beautifully with natural wood, and can hold up to water much better than natural wood

Side casing is 4 1/2" and the head is 5 1/2" not including the custom crown. ? maybe too fancy ?- especially don't need / want alot of crown molding
