What do we think of an all-white kitchen? It certainly is low-risk and pops against the hardwood, which I am keeping (although refinishing).

One of my favorite pictures. I like the asymmetrical mix of white and wood against the wall and use of color in backplash. This is modern but not too serious.

Dining room sideboard. This is basic structure. Open shelves are an interesting option here - note especially the spot for cookbooks and coffee mugs. A shelving configuration like this could be more practical than just open shelving. Do not love the white here - too plain but maybe it would be ok with a tile backsplash.
