The orange in the Mahogany will counteract the gray in the Minwax. Leaving you with "mud". You might want to look at something that is darker than Mahogany...without any "white/gray" in it. The background color of the wood has be be respected and anticipated. I've seen Classic Gray over Red Oak (several steps LIGHTER than Mahogany...and only 1/2 as "orange") and it looked like a mixture of red brick and river mud....not a look I would ever council someone to go for without a FULL mock-up. Yah. That means buying a piece of mahogany plywood and doing ALL the work on the mahogany plywood (including sanding and a single coat of finish) before moving forward with a door.
Orange + gray = nasty mud color. Painting is a better option. If you like the Mahogany too much to paint, then a dark stain without any white/gray in it is a better, more respectful option.

Thank you,I was looking at using two 36" rods. It says that a 36" rod for 200 cubic SQ FT. The smaller rods don't cover very much cubic SQ FT Did you find something else that works? Thank you, Barb
