Dining room wall covering concept

Q

Dark grass cloth in dining room?

Q

Dark accent wall with either paneling or paper? Add sconces on wall for visual interest, then you don't need so much art, it becomes an architectural focus.

Q

This is a very abstract concept photo I'm using here - The ideas would be to incorporate beams or other wood materials somewhere in the kitchen to make more sense out of the stone. Having only one rustic element feels a little off. Light perimeter cabinets and a darker island that picks up a color in the stone could work. Are they willing to refinish the floors? A warmer brown would be nice.

Pretty mix of materials Color palette Mixes rustic with modern nicely

Pantry door - Bring in dark contrast with an iron door or wood painted dark. Add frosted glass?

Q

Wall paint - simply white

Furniture palette - Light, bright, sophisticated, transitional. Different rug though, don't love that.

Creating contrast with dark case pieces, cabinet and drapery hardware and lighting. Nice build-out at fireplace.

White surround with heavier stone

**** This felt to me to be close to the stone you are dealing with. They opted for the light surround and I think it works. This concept also incorporates the contrast of light and dark. Although there are a number of things I would change, the overall vibe is nice.

Dark rustic stone with light surround

Q

Photo

This is the only visual I could find with a dark painted surround paired with dark stone and light built-ins. I have to say, visually, I prefer the lighter surrounds in the other images. Perhaps the "dark" comes in with dark finishes in the furniture, lighting and accessories? Could the dining room have a darker wall covering to bring in that depth you're after?
