Kitchens
just the right mix of rustic and industrial. Not a fan of the pendants, but light fixtures will always be my hardest sell. Just the light, not the decor, please... recessed ceiling cans & under-counter disks, yes.
Still digging the pipe-shelves
nothing about this except the pipe/wood shelving unit.
I'm becoming more and more a fan of this robin's egg turquoise-blue.
Open beneath a gas cook top. Wow. This has a certain rustic-industrial vibe.
itty bitty short backsplash. Yes - why do we need 6" when 2" (or 1") will do?
try the open storage - take off a door. or two. I like the colored cabinets with white "stuff" but this is interesting stuff.
I like the super narrow shelves on the right side. (might want a little lip to reduce knocking stuff off.) A narrow plate rack would work too.
compact dishwasher (condo-sized?)
Rustic simplicity. A wall-mount faucet allows a deeper sink - esp if no window. I like the shelf above for the everyday goods. Not sure how well apron-front sinks work for shorties like me.
I love the dropped sink in the island - I would want this to be my big sink, not a little prepper because I'm so short. What a back saver.
likes -small scale fireplace, dining set. SOME open shelves away from cooking area dislikes - colors, scale of island, lighting
Open shelves in a pantry, yes! Where grease happens, not so much.
Upside - Unfitted rustic look Downside - ALL THE GRAY. UGH. Looks like somebody lost control of their air sprayer & didn't come back to finish.
Upsides - island: leggy & open, handles, hi-rise faucet, floor Maybe - tile wall Iffy - open shelves Nopes - light fixture
That board ceiling wants to be blue (and laid 90 degrees for the visual width.) Nice floor. Still mixed feelings about open shelves - the grease!
I like the pops of color here. Not the bar stools. How do you clean spilled oatmeal out of wicker?
I like the pub chairs too. Want them painted in different colors. (I think?)
chair-backs lower than the table top. A huge change from our high-backs. I like the airiness this gives the space, though not sure about comfort while we linger.
small scale done well. 18" dishwasher - Apartment sized.
toe kick lighting? Nice effect, if you can keep clean floors.
Nice. Calm and soothing without being too "perfectly shiny." Good home-vibe. Wants a splash of deep cherry red!
This, on the other hand, is too bright. Melt my eyeballs first thing every morning? No. Also too sterile. I'd never manage this tidy, and it'd have to be tidy. All. The. Time. ugh.
Yes to the color-block effect, not quite these dusty colors. Something purer. Like the openness, not the tchotsky clutter on the backsplash
right-sized efficiency
other end of same space as previous. Maybe a little long for a galley - espcially with an island. I think I'd find myself always having to walk to the other end.
Nobody needs that many dishes, but the ladder is a nice touch. An open pantry, perhaps?
a for-real drainboard! (soapstone?)
Kitchen / office instead of kitchen / breakfast nook. Laundry through to the right.
Kitchen / office space
U-shaped kitchen on one end of a room. U-shaped laundry area opposite, with boot room / 1/2 ba & home office between.
hate the backsplash, like the glass cabinet details & the seating for 2 at an island.
x2, please. Facing? His'n'Hers
Entertaining up front, workhorse in the back - an anti-mullet

TOE KICK DRAWERS!!!
