Styles We Like
This is interesting. (Bob) I like this also. I was concerned when you had said you wanted white marble next to the barn wood which strikes me as mixing metaphors. I like the more rustic textured stone if to be next to the rustic wood. I also think there should be a contrast of light vs dark with stone next to wood - so if wood is to be light then the stone should be darker, or vice versa. We will need to use some structural "magic" to incorporate the floating hearth which will probably mean cutting back into the wall framing some. Same for a mantle if it is also to be cantilevered in a similar way.
(Bob) This is very cool! I like the large stone slabs and especially the vertical off-center "racing stripe" in a subtle contrasting material. But then the whole composition is asymmetrical so that gave them permission to go off-center. Clean and contemporary.
Nice color and accents
