This is what we're talking about in terms of the pass-through for the kitchen and for the movie/room. I realize that we likely can't afford these accordion windows that completely open up (and even if we could, would need to find a way so they looked in style with the rest of the house), so the question is, how can we create this kind of experience, with as few mullions as possible, given our budget?
These are the kind of sliders we want in the kitchen - but prefer 10 lights instead of 15
These are the windows I'd like in the dining room and kitchen (if we don't do the glass doors)
if we decide not to do doors out to deck, like having a bar on the other side of a pass through like this (don't need the whole bank of windows to open up, but would like french-door windows without a mullion in the middle).
love not seeing the hood!
Love the deep pot drawers under the stove top
If we don't do the wall of glass doors. Would need a pass-through solution.
Love how the cooktop and the stools disappear - would be a gorgeous view of kitchen from dining nook - IF it had some kind of elevated floating wood counter to mask the kitchen mess.
Could these nooks on either side of the cook top be my spice storage solution?
If we were to put the kitchen in what is currently planned to be the dining room space, we could do something like this. Just feel that would be too far from back door to carry in groceries.
I love the difference this little touch of marble makes (and it's a low-maintenance way to infuse marble into the design).
With this elegant stainless kitchen it blends modern with tradition beautifully and I don't even mind seeing the appliances as they blend in! My concern would be fingerprints...
If we don't do the doors out to the deck, I like this kind of pass through
Stunning kitchen. Love how the pantry cabinets disappear.
Love the HenryBuilt island with the bar block. (Don't care for HenryBuilt's laminates on the other cabinets).
Love these barstools, the doors, the rug - warm and inviting space. Not crazy about the cabinet color, but it really works in the space.
Love these windows. The rest of the kitchen is too traditional for my taste. But, love the pass through. If we don't end up with doors out to the deck, I definitely want a pass through (on the other side to be a bar). But want to make sure the pass through isn't in front of the sink as the faucet would be in the way and I want to be able to pass out platters, etc to the deck.
I don't know if this is the right solution (I do like it, but I'm not sure it's big enough), but I need an easy, elegant spice solution. I cook a lot and use a lot of spices and need them easily accessible. A drawer wouldn't be big enough (and I have oils an salts, etc. that need to go somewhere too). But I don't want them to be super visible. Right now I have a big shelf next to the stove, which is really easy and accessible - but not terribly attractive. I love the accessibility and don't want to lose that, but want a more beautiful solution.
Wouldn't something like this be gorgeous for the kitchen island? Imagine ultra-thin quartz or stainless countertop... Contrast with modern floor-to-ceiling pull-outs...
Gorgeous HenryBuilt tall cabinet. Love how the handles are seamlessly integrated into the design. Looks like furniture instead of kitchen cabinets!
Love how the hood is hidden, the thin countertops, and the clean backsplash
Perhaps something like this for the glass cabinet - in contrast to floor-to-ceiling white cabinets?
Don't care for the cabinet detail, but like the floating counter on top of the ultra thin countertop - don't think I want the floating counter to match the base cabinet - think it would be nicer to have a contrast.
Love the contrast between the wood and the counters. Love the feel of this space.
I know this much stone is way out of our budget, but love the contrast in materials, love the elevated wood counter in contrast to the other counter (although not crazy about how it's mounted - would prefer it to float instead of have legs). Like how you can't see the appliances (although the dark cabinetry is too dark - would get depressing in the winter).
A little too ornate, and don't like the glossy cabinets or shiny countertops (too high maintenance!) but love the contrast between traditional and modern with the rustic, warm floors. This is so very cool (probably too cool for us, but it inspires me none-the-less!).
I love pretty much everything about this space. If I had all the money in the world, we'd have these gorgeous steel doors and steel windows throughout the house (love the clean lines and expanse of glass). Love the natural warmth of the wood, the modern aesthetic, without being too stark and pretentious. Just lovely. I want to hang out in this kitchen with friends and wine!
Love contrast between modern and traditional. Don't like the glossy finish at all (we must have low-maintenance everything!)
While this is a bit more traditional that I like (or it doesn't have enough contrast between traditional and modern), I do like the built-in floor-to-ceiling cabinets that look seamless with the wall. Also, we have quite a bit of clear glassware that, while it isn't fancy, I'd love to have a built-in glass cabinet perhaps as a feature.
Okay, I know our house isn't remotely like this space, but I like the look and feel of it. The natural light, the warmth of the wood with the brick - combined natural and modern aesthetic. If we were to put the kitchen where we currently plan on having the dining room, this could be a possibility (just concerned about how far it is from the back door when hauling in groceries).
While I'm not crazy about the upper cabinets and how the hood is done, I love the cognac stools in contrast to the white - adds a pop of natural color and gives the space a relaxed warmth.
Love this floating counter
I love the Henry Built bar block (I love a lot of things about Henry Built - I just can't afford them!). Love their mix of materials and colors. Just gorgeous stuff.
One of my favorites! Love the contrast between the warm wood, the white, and the blue - and how the cabinets pick up the blue in the stone. Elegant but casual. Traditional but modern. Gorgeous!
Love the cabinet detail. Makes it look like furniture instead of kitchen cabinets.
Love how the appliances look intentional and beautiful in the design and not just functional. I can't stand the look of appliances, but love this.
Love the juxtapose of white with the wood. Love the wood counter being higher than the regular counter (if we go with our kitchen/dining design, I want the bar counter to mask the mess of the kitchen counter for the view from the dining room)
slate wall w/TV on swing arm (can watch from stools or kitchen). TV disappears visually w/slate behind it.
