Reply to: We have hard water in Houston. We are still a couple weeks away from moving in, but the plumber has installed a North Star NSCWC, A combination water softener and filter. He says it’s the most cost effective solution and requires less maintenance since it has a self cleaning filter. You just have to deal with the salt. Don’t know what it costs. Haven’t received a progress invoice in a couple weeks.
