Clean, light, warm inviting take on modern farmhouse kitchen

Use of stone/ brick somewhere in house? Not authentic to original construction, but would contribute to warm feel of natural materials?

Don't like aesthetics in this picture, too Laura Ashley. But consider dishes in open farmhouse shelving over sink? But only if have cool dishes, which we don't yet. Also, wooden top for center island? But a rough knotty farmhouse grain? But does that make for high maintenance.

I really like nooks like this one, but nonetheless would be reticent to put in house side I feel we'd end up taking lots of our meals here instead of dining room. Or do you just set it up as a homework/ crafts station in living area? With shelves with crafts/homework stuff on shelves?

Don't like the arches under island, but like the re-used timber on walls painted white.

Modern but farmhouse feel. Note: open shelves do not work on ground floor for us. Too much dog hair and dander gets on dishes
Oh the light! The simplicity...
