Greatest Hits for my Home
Offering both form and function, glass-front drawers and cupboards are a great addition to any closet. They not only look good and exude high-end appeal, but these stylish, time-saving solutions also allow you to keep tabs on what wardrobe items are currently on rotation and what pieces are in the wash, which could save you from rummaging through your closet only to find what you were looking for isn’t there. Glass-front cabinetry also gives the illusion of spaciousness, which makes it perfect for compact walk-in wardrobes and bedrooms.
I LOVE how these little nooks look, particularly the one along the side of the door. I would love to have this/these in my hallway! There may be use for it in other rooms too like the dining room. Having those six nooks beside the door in the dining room and door to the living room and perhaps somewhere else like the entryway would bring some repetition and bring the house together.
I could do something like this in the hallway. The black and white photos look great with the white trim, grey walls and wooden floor.
Looks nice but probably not enough cupboard space. I like how the floor contrasts with the walls etc and the room still looks light. I particularly like this colour wood for flooring although I do have some concerns as to whether it would date faster than a lighter or darker floor and whether it would clash wish some of the colour schemes I have in mind. Perhaps the floor would be okay if most of the colour schemes I chose had some orange?
Nice colour scheme. I also like the stools.
Stool in the kitchen would be useful. A good way to store cookbooks as you can display them and are more likely to use them. I don't think I would have room for the stool though.
Cute layout. I would like a similar layout in my kitchen but with storage and a fridge to the left and the sink by the window. I also wouldn't have a table there.
named drawers are interesting and cute.
This draw divider might save space and time.
I like the pull-out spice drawers. It would save pantry allspice and allow you to see a lot at once without jars in front of it hiding what's in them.
I love the green sofa and pillows, they are a similar green as my plates. I also love the wood wall and exposed beams. This room also feels as though it is outside on a deck.
Cute bedroom layout.
Example of a room with a yellow, green and blue colour scheme. I don't really want it in my house though except for a bedroom perhaps.
First picture but further away and to the side.
Same room again.
Same room different angle.
Nice colour scheme.
I like this built-in shelving and the colour contrast it has.
I like the colour shame of the couch and pillows.
Nice purple and orange colour scheme and hidden TV.
I like the colour scheme and the yellow flowers although I doubt I would have this colour scheme in my house.
I like the purple with the orange.
Nice colour scheme for a bedroom.
I like the exposed beams.
Nice colour scheme.
Nice colour scheme.
Nice colour scheme.
Nice colour scheme.
This wallpaper would be cool if you were going for a rustic or industrial look. I doubt I'd have it in my house though as the style would likely clash with everything else. There are some other great rebel wall murals as well.
Nice subtle wall paper.
Colours co-ordinate well and subdued blue, cream couch and white ceiling prevent the supplementary colours being too jarring. I could use this in a bedroom.
Nice wall colour and colour scheme. Might use for bedroom.
Floating built-in shelves in front of stone feature wall. May look good in entrance.
I like the ceiling and the blue of the chairs.
The front of the shelving is painted a dark, contrasting colour which creates visual interest.
Here the built-in shelving is painted the same colour as the wall tying it in well. The darker colour of the vertical sides creates an interesting contrast. This may look good in the family room or study, perhaps even the dining room and library.
Built-in displays on either side of window. Back of shelves pained the same colour as the wall helps in to tie in well.
Back of shelving painted the same colour of as the wall, helps the built-in shelving tie in with the room and creates a nice contrast with the white.
Built-in display cases on either side of painting. Could hide TV behind the painting. The colour scheme is nice.
Natural piece of wood as bench for library nook adds character and curves. The colour scheme is also nice.
I like how the library is elevated. While there are some advantages to this layout, I don't think I would want it for my home.
I want these doors in the entryway, hallway and to hide the study nook (basically any full-length cupboard not in a bedroom or perhaps a bathroom. With the slab door, it has top and bottom pivot hinges in lieu of the typical butterfly type of hinge. The pivot hinges are installed in the floor as well as in the head of the door frame in lieu of the door jambs and are used to create a door that is flush with the wall. When the doors are closed, the wall has a more uniform and monolithic appearance, a modernist design trait for sure. And when the door is open it's as if a large panel, one of many that the wall is made of, is what opens. Architecturally, the door becomes a piece of the wall instead of being something entirely separate from the wall, as in traditional architectural design. In fact, whereas in traditional architecture the door is a celebrated architectural element that announces the connection between two rooms, in a modern aesthetic the door becomes subservient to the plane of the wall. These hinges and the work to set them are generally more costly than a standard hinge and its installation. A set (typically three or four) of good-quality butterfly hinges will se...
I want wood-looking porcelain tiles that look like these throughout the whole house! This colour scheme is nice but too subdued.
I would like hidden walls of storage that are like this but less obvious with no handles etc.
I would like to be able to hide the TVs away in my home. I also like the colour scheme although I would probably save it for a bedroom.
Bookcases always seem to look better when they are built-in, flush with the wall and lack ornate mouldings around the edges. The bookshelf not being close to a corner; the bookcases not going all the way to the floor and ceiling; and the section of wall between the two bookshelves help create "blank space" allowing the eye to rest and preventing the wall looking too cluttered or visually busy despite being chock full of books. It would be interesting to see these bookshelves with doors. If I wasn't having doors on these bookshelves I would bring the internal shelves forward to be flush with the wall. I quite like wooden floating shelves but would probably restrict this to smaller niches as you don't usually have shelves this long without vertical supports. Additionally, I would like my bookshelves and china cabinet to have internal feature colours which will probably look better with more vertical frame pieces. I would also have some internal lighting in the cabinetry. The lights they used here do look interesting though.
