Wondering if it makes sense to put this type of countertop (or some sort of stone) on the top of both sides of the built-ins for symmetry since the wetbar would need some sort of special countertop

This is almost exactly what I'm thinking !

Option to also do an open cabinet w/ shelving in the area where the return air is??

Really like this top "counter"....would like to seek your advice on this since we are hoping to do a wetbar on the other side of that wall. A rock to match fireplace, a marble to mirror the kitchen, or a white stone to match the white of the cabinetry??

Essentially the look I want but in bright white and a thicker top.

Essentially the clean line look I want but in a bright white and a thicker top layer.

Simple, bright white, sleek look. Would prefer a thick "counter top" (not sure what you'd call it....similar to the thickness of the floating shelves in the picture. And cabinets longer in height.
