You just wouldn't need a dinning room with such a nice expanding space to accommodate larger and smaller gatherings. I'd prefer a warmer color environment but the simplicity and efficiency of this is really good.

If stools were used they could be out of the way beneath the island top allowing for a wonderfully huge work space when baking those specialty holiday goodies
