In this episode of Houzz TV Live, Austin, Texas, designer Jessica Love gives a virtual tour of her renovated 1954 home. In the kitchen, she painted the cabinet boxes black and added vertical-grain slab walnut doors and drawers to create a sleek yet warm atmosphere. In the living spaces, multiple wool rugs, a mix of antiques and casual furniture pieces and a rotating collection of artwork by local artists deliver a welcoming, lived-in style. “I don’t want to be scared to walk around my home with a glass of wine,” Love says. In the master bathroom, a graphic black-and-white ceiling design hand-painted by a local artist gives a pump of personality. And for the exterior, custom steel planters add curb appeal and privacy.
