Neatly trimmed greenery. Hedges that stay green through the winter are a godsend in cold climates — they can lend your home some much-needed freshness when everything else has withered. Even if you don’t have bushes planted in the ground, you can still add big pots of boxwood for a dose of green on your porch or front steps. Crisply trimmed shapes look especially polished.
Artwork. This painting is positioned perfectly — centered between the two doors, above the console — to create an instant focal point . The size and tone of your art are important. Choose a painting with the appropriate scale for your space, in tones that stand out and draw the eye in but don't clash with the rest of the room. One large, bold piece of art looks fantastic against a neutral wall and furniture.
Relax your space with neutrals and naturals. If your space is still feeling too haphazard, try toning it down with large expanses of neutral color on the walls, floor and big pieces of furniture. This airy space charms in lavender and white. For those who want a hint of fun color but prefer the space to remain light and neutral, look to lighter shades of purple with some gray in them. The gray neutralizes the color a bit
Use the color sparingly and pair it with light neutrals. Be sure to add some sparkle, whether via glass pendant lights or glass and metal decorative accessories; it'll make the purple look crisp and modern.

Typhoon Bordeaux with stain-grade cabinets. I'm a sucker for warmth, so this combination really appeals to me. The brick red and browns in this granite pair beautifully with walnut, oak, mahogany and cherry cabinets. It works well in Spanish homes that feature Saltillo floors. The deep red and brown in the granite and the rustic charm of Spanish architecture are a match made in heaven.
