Shelves going into the stone fireplace. In order to limit projection as much as possible but permit functional shelving accommodating most books and other thin items 8'' deep. Shelves should be recessed from front of fireplace at least 1/2''. (fireplace on left, outer wall on right.) Shelves of distressed, or more natural looking softer wood, to minimize modern look.
