Pantries
The workhorse pantry features wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling open shelves. A deep countertop wraps around the middle, providing space for small appliances and utensils. “I love having my microwave in there,” Heather says. Vilov painted the walls of the pantry antique blue (Vintage Vessel by Sherwin-Williams) to contrast with the light brown walls in the kitchen. “And with the white shelves, they really pop,” she says.
This pantry, which was custom made by JM Interiors, was designed in close collaboration with the clients. “They wanted decent pullout storage at the bottom,” Mundy says, which is why they included four spacious basket drawers. Solid oak door racks provide additional space for spices and condiments. The pantry is also equipped with LED lighting, which comes on automatically when the doors are opened.
The most popular home bar of 2021 is in a Minneapolis kitchen by Tays & Co Design Studios. The bar includes a sink, beverage fridge and ice maker. Overhead are floating wood shelves hung from the ceiling with black steel bands. But the highlight of the space is the stunning stone veneer wall that adds visual weight and an undeniable rustic charm.
