What are your thoughts on a bench for one of the sides?

This is probably more like what we are working with??
Not sure we can necessarily achieve this look in our kitchen, but I do like the look of it!
chairs obviously too heavy/big ... otherwise love this look.
Love the colors, again - and little color pops. Not fond of barstools.
What are your thoughts on a bench for one of the sides?
