Hidden Technology well executed
The recessed display in the millwork appears to use an acoustically transparent frame to conceal the speakers and provide a more economical and flexible way to adapt the space to changing TV sizes in the future. The extension of the frame and fabric as a design element would also allow higher performance in wall or even box style speakers to be used. Possibly even hiding centralized equipment locations for controllers, amps and switchers. The fabric aiding in thermal management. The design aesthetically blends with the room, providing maximum functionality and performance for the owner to watch TV and movies and listen to music, all without calling undue attention to any of the equipment. Well done.
This media room appears to use an acoustically transparent material to conceal larger left and right channel speakers and possibly subwoofers flanking the Stone surround and TV niche. A large flat panel video display using a tilt bracket makes it easier to watch video from the lower main seating areas with a custom sized center channel located below the display on ear level those using the room. While the low fireplace hearth acts as an accent to the main focus of the display without loosing the intimacy and warmth of the fireplace by the main seating area.
