No one picture can do it justice, but top to bottom this Susanna Cots Spanish manse (if transported to a coast or snuggled up to a mountain) will be my house when I die and go to heaven. So never. Even down to the textiles, it is material perfection, all things to all Bearcubus.

Sweet-ass bedroom. No info.

I hate the dominant Lake Minnetonka/Excelsior aspect of Houzz, but it makes you realize that like ladies' magazines, Houzz pictures of pretty things are partly adverts to the oligarchs, and partly about the fabulous capitalist world of exclusion, inaccessibility, symbolic domination, manufactured scarcity, and working class discipline and material deprivation. This is a lovely way to be an overlord in Minnesota.

Aux armes, citoyens Formez vos bataillons Marchons, marchons! Qu'un sang impur Abreuve nos sillons!

This is the Paris of gross billionaire playboys and teenagers on the couch in bikinis. Nice infrastructure, though.

Japonaise home with boulder fireplaces and wall windows overlooking a stone-channeled stream in Moscow. The Russian Hackers have infiltrated Houzz, and it's gonna be all right.

I like the beach. I don't like the lack of a jumping dock.

What fresh heaven is this?

Q

I would love this Swiss mountain chalet table with educated, socialist middle-class Europeans around it. Also beer, cheese.

Q

In the Bourgeois Afterlife, we shall have lush greenhouse lounge walls fronting the garden.

Q

Minnesota meets Japan, what?! Awesome.

Q

The Revenant may be crawling in his own blood outside. That's fine. I have this fireplace, and a mega-badgerdon rug.

Q

I wuv u, Euro pendant fireplace + glasswall full of woodland scenery. Plus sociable couch.

Q

Japanese-Hawaiian-style: About the only thing subpar here is the teevee worshipping station, which I shall replace with a library nook.

Q

Here is every thing you could ever want: stone stove, glass walls and doors out to stone paver-surrounded pool, hottub, fronting water view. With high ceilings, wood, surrounded by large trees.

Q

That's a waterfall under that house bridge.

Q

Gorgeous glass cliff house under the trees. Right up until the cliff gives way.

Q

Good morning, California sunshine.

Q

I wuv u, Euro pendant fireplace + glasswall full of Western scenery. Some shyster claims this is Miami. No.

Perfect living-dining room

The painting to the side is horrible, but to everything else I say YASSSS.

Q

To the Oregon coast, I say YES. Especially on the 3 days of the year when it is kissed by sun.

Q

I embrace you, woodland American Eastcoast midcentury palace.

Q

With gusto and delight I would dive into this pool astride a tree-framed desert valley view.

Q

Hello, every charming Colorado morning.

Q

In front of the ocean, surrounded by wood, I wouldn't even care that the chairs are stupid and cheap. OK, eventually I would care.

Q

I would RIDE and I would LOUNGE.

Q

Let us raise a toast to sun, lake, & dendrophilia.

Q

Last Picture Show, civilized redux. Cybill Sherpherd was SO. HOT. In that stupid, venal Texan way. Not unlike the sherbet-yellow couches here.

Q

I accept the absence of view in this case of an extraordinary 2-storey livingroom with windows, stone hearth & floor, surrounded by library balcony tier.
